Fateless Video Recap: WHICH HERO TYPE IS THE STRONGEST?
In the latest YouTube update, Simon walked us through one of the most important systems in Godforge: hero Archetypes. Every hero in the game belongs to one of five core archetypes, each with a unique combat role that shapes team strategy, gear choices, and build potential.
Here’s a quick list of the five archetypes you’ll see in Godforge:
- Defenders – Protectors focused on shielding and mitigating damage.
- Invokers – Support-style heroes who heal, buff, and boost your team’s momentum.
- Brawlers – Self-sustaining fighters who trade health for power.
- Disruptors – Masters of debuffs, disables, and turn manipulation.
- Slayers – Glass cannon damage-dealers focused on pure offensive output.
Each archetype is paired with specific gear types that provide attunement bonuses, enhancing their strengths as you progress. While attunement won’t be live for the July alpha, it’s a key part of endgame build diversity. Beyond archetypes, Simon also touched on hero affinities (Strength, Wisdom, Cunning, Eternal) and alignments (Chaos vs. Order), both of which will tie into deeper narrative and content later in development.
