Fateless YouTube Video Recap: When Is Godforge Beta 2? What’s Coming With It

Each week, we share a direct update from the team behind Godforge, so you can see what we’re building, what’s changing, and why we’re making the calls we are. This week, Simon returns from holiday with a full Beta 2 update, covering the target release window, new game modes, campaign changes, summoning improvements, weapon updates, optimization work, and what the team wants feedback on next.

The biggest update is the Beta 2 timing. Simon explains that the team is aiming to have the main work completed by mid-October, followed by a hardening period focused on bug fixing, optimization, device support, and polish. The current goal is to run Beta 2 in early December, likely during the first or second week, with an expected playtest length of around two weeks.

Simon also makes it clear that Beta 2 should feel very different from the first beta. Arena and Pantheons are planned as the two major new game modes. Players should be able to create and join Pantheons, fight the Pantheon boss, complete Pantheon quests, use a Pantheon shop, and test the first version of Arena with ranks, win streaks, defense teams, and expected competitive features.

The hero roster is also getting a major pass. The team is improving the visual presentation, simplifying user flow, reducing unnecessary clicks, and making common tasks like mass promotion and leveling heroes to 60 much easier. Since players spend so much time in the roster, the goal is to make that experience feel smoother, cleaner, and more distinctly Godforge.

Campaign is also being rebuilt into a more exploratory structure. The Beta 2 version will be an MVP, but players should be able to enter realms like Avalon and find different nodes, dungeon unlocks, campfire merchants, horde-style encounters, and additional story moments. The goal is to test whether campaign feels more like exploring the world of Godforge instead of simply moving through a straight line of stages.

Summoning is another major focus. While the full Sanctum rework will not be ready for Beta 2, the Godforge itself and the summon flow are being improved. Summoning with aetherstones should feel more impactful, with stronger anticipation, better presentation, and a handful of cinematic summon moments for select legendary heroes.

Weapons are also changing in a more meaningful way. Instead of only acting as passive stat pieces, weapons will have abilities that players can choose to use in combat instead of a hero ability. That should create more interesting combat decisions and make weapons feel more impactful overall.

A large amount of work is also going into optimization, bug fixing, and build quality. The team is working on smaller initial downloads, faster patch sizes, better support for lower-end devices, reduced phone heat, improved visuals, combat speed, map optimization, and hero validation. Simon explains that this hardening phase is especially important because the next beta needs to feel much closer to a released version of the game.
