Fateless Video Recap: WE ARE WORKING TO FIX THE BIGGEST ISSUE FROM ALPHA!
We’re back with a highly requested update—this time tackling one of the biggest pieces of feedback we received from the alpha: the in-battle user interface. In our latest video, Simon walks through the sweeping redesign we’ve been working on to improve clarity, usability, and the cinematic feel of combat.
After reviewing countless comments and studying footage from creators, we knew the old layout just wasn’t giving players enough breathing room. Bosses overlapped UI elements, portraits cluttered the screen, and important information was hard to read. So we rolled up our sleeves, sat down together, and completely rethought how a battle should feel.
Here’s what we’ve changed:
- Turn order now sits cleanly on the right side, with an expanded panel that lets you inspect abilities, health bars, buffs, debuffs, and more at a glance.
- Ultimate portraits have moved to the left—perfect for mobile controls, where your left thumb activates ults and your right thumb handles abilities.
- Buffs and debuffs also shift left, opening up the entire center of the screen so the battlefield and bosses can shine.
- You can now toggle damage, healing, and shielding meters, plus chat, all while the fight continues.
- A refined UI hide mode gives battles a striking cinematic feel.
With the screen decluttered, we now have far more freedom in camera angles and hero placement, making boss encounters more dramatic and readable from every viewpoint.
This update is a direct result of your feedback, and it’s just one of many improvements we’re making as we push toward Early Access. Thanks for helping us shape Godforge into something truly special. 👉 Check out the YouTube video to see it all in action!
