Fateless Podcast Recap:
During Alpha Wave 2, we hosted our first proper LIVE Podcast. Simon & Sham were joined by guests Cold Brew Gaming and BigPoppaDrock, The session quickly turned into an open and lively discussion about the state of Godforge and where the project is headed.
Podcast Summary – Key Conversation Points:
- Surprising Stability in Alpha: Both Cold Brew and Drock admitted they expected more bugs from an early alpha, but instead found a stable experience with polished systems already in place. “I expected it to crash—it never did,” Drock shared.
- Attention to Detail: Small touches stood out, like the ability to clearly read status effects and turn order mid-battle. These quality-of-life features showed thoughtful design even at an early stage.
- Character Models & Visuals: The group agreed the hero models were already impressive. With upcoming improvements to lighting and shaders, Fateless expects them to rival top titles in the genre.
- Camera Angles: Feedback was mixed. Some players favored the classic top-down view for clarity, while others enjoyed the more immersive POV option. The team is working on refining camera options for different boss fights to enhance strategy and immersion.
- Imprint System: Imprints, which allow heroes’ passives to be transferred to weapons, drew excitement. The system was only partly functional in Wave 1, but once fixed, it opened up deeper strategy and customization.
- Balance & Feedback: The developers emphasized their commitment to quick, transparent balancing decisions and open communication with the community—especially around PvP and long-term content updates.
The live podcast captured exactly what the Fateless team wanted: real-time, candid discussion with the community.
