Fateless Video Recap: Godforge’s NEW Legendary VFX vs OLD — Huge Glow Up

Each week, we share a direct update from the team behind Godforge, so you can see what we’re building, what’s changing, and why we’re making the calls we are. This week, Simon gives a closer look at ongoing VFX upgrades for legendary heroes, showing how the team is raising the visual bar on some of the game’s most important characters.

The core idea behind this update is that Godforge already has a broad VFX library built to support a roster of more than 200 heroes. That system helped the team establish a strong baseline across the full cast. Now, the focus is shifting toward making legendary heroes feel more distinct, more impactful, and more worthy of their rarity.

Simon walks through several direct before-and-after comparisons. Zeus gets more dramatic lightning impact, with stronger visual identity around his god-of-lightning fantasy. Isis sees more symbolic and thematic depth in her buffs and revive-style effects, with extra visual layers that better sell the feeling of life, restoration, and magic. Camazotz’s effects gain more venom, blood, and bat-like motion, giving his abilities a darker and more dangerous personality. Tlaloc’s abilities are also upgraded, with more fluid movement, stronger water-based impact, and a particularly stylish ultimate that feels more dynamic and controlled.

A big takeaway from the video is that these upgrades are not about turning every effect into chaos on screen. The team is aiming for more identity and more impact, but still wants the effects to remain readable and appropriate for gameplay. In many cases, the improvements are subtle, but they add up to a much stronger feeling overall.

This VFX work is just one part of a much bigger push happening across the game. Simon reminds players that multiple teams are currently working in parallel on art upgrades, quality-of-life improvements, feature development, and broader polish. The goal is simple: keep lifting the quality of Godforge across the board.
