YouTube Video Recap: Answering all the TOUGH community questions!
Each week, we share a direct update from the team behind Godforge, so you can see what we’re building, what’s changing, and why we’re making the calls we are. This week, we sat down with Simon and Juho to answer community questions and dig into what’s changing as we prepare for beta.
A big part of this conversation was about the backend migration and why it mattered so much for the game. We’ve now moved the team onto Metaplay and started a new round of testing. The goal is simple. We needed a backend that could better handle large numbers of actions happening at once, from gear changes to summons to account progression, without the throttling and instability we were running into before.
That change also affects how we approach testing. Our QA process is ramping up fast as we move toward beta, with more testers involved, daily bug triage, and a clear split between what must be fixed now and what can wait. Some issues are small. Some are critical. The important part is that we are in a better position to spot them, rank them, and act on them quickly.
We also talked through mobile performance, cheating prevention, account backups, hero validation, and how we think about stability under load. A lot of this comes down to building smarter systems now instead of patching around bigger issues later. That includes better server-side checks, better testing tools, and more flexibility for future updates.
Looking ahead, beta is shaping up as a focused testing phase rather than a soft launch. It will be there to stress key systems, gather feedback, and help us refine the experience before early access later in the year. We’re also building rewards and goals into beta so your time with the game still matters, even if progress will reset.
We know the road here has included some big technical decisions. That’s part of building a game like this. We keep learning, adapting, and improving, and the feedback we get from the community continues to help shape what Godforge becomes.
